Special exhibition
Ninagawa Mika (provisional title)
2025/1/11-2025/3/30
Venue [ Higashiyama Cube ]
-
This is the first major solo exhibition by photographer and film director Ninagawa Mika at a museum in the Kansai region. The works embodying Ninagawa’s creative approach, which sublimates the ephemeral beauty of everyday life into an eternal existence, will be presented in a space co-created by talents from different fields, including researchers, architects, and musicians.
Incorporating various techniques such as large-scale video installations, the presented works form reciprocal connections, quietly stirring the viewer’s emotions through myriad expressions that range from darkness to vivid colors. Likened to walking through an artificial paradise, the viewer is invited on an introspective journey into the artist’s creative world, reliving her story of gracefully finding light in modern society.
