Francisco de Zurbarán Virgin and Child with Saint John 1658, Oil on canvas, The San Diego Museum of Art The San Diego Museum of Art houses a substantial collection of Western painting, one of the oldest on the West Coast of the United States. The National Museum of Western Art, Tokyo holds a collection, unique in East Asia, that systematically traces the history of Western painting.
