In the four vestibules located to the east, west, south, and north, elements such as marble walls, mosaic tile floors, and plaster ceilings have been preserved wherever possible, allowing visitors to experience the atmosphere of the museum’s original design. In the East Vestibule, a dedicated section introduces the Kyoto Prize, an international award honoring individuals who have made significant contributions in the fields of science, technology, philosophy, and the arts.
