● Priority Admission for Visitors with Reservations (from October 31)
Beginning Saturday, October 31, priority admission will be given to visitors with reservations. Timed-entry reservations will be available from 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 16, via the Ticket Page.
Visitors who have already purchased tickets are also requested to make a timed-entry reservation.
From October 31, visitors will generally be able to enter without a reservation. However, during busy periods, visitors without reservations may need to wait or may not be able to enter, depending on crowd conditions that day. The exhibition is expected to be particularly busy on weekends and public holidays, during long weekends and holiday periods, and toward the end of its run. We therefore recommend making a timed-entry reservation before your visit.

● Earlier Opening Hours on Weekends and Public Holidays (from November 1)
Beginning Sunday, November 1, admission to the exhibition will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays only. Exceptions: Sunday, November 8; Sunday, November 15; and Saturday, November 21.

● Distribution of Numbered Entry Passes (through October 30)
As weekends are expected to be busy, numbered entry passes will be distributed to ensure visitor safety in the exhibition galleries. Numbered entry passes may also be distributed on weekdays, depending on crowd conditions. Depending on crowd conditions that day, distribution of numbered entry passes may end before the last admission time. Thank you for your understanding.

An immersive exhibition exploring Zen through the works of Studio Ghibli. The Zen and Studio Ghibli Exhibition will be held in autumn 2026 at the Higashiyama Cube, New Building of the Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art.

Based on the book Zen and Ghibli, which compiles conversations between Studio Ghibli producer Toshio Suzuki and Zen monks, this exhibition offers a unique, experiential way to encounter a Zen-like sense of acceptance through Ghibli’s works.

Ghibli films often embody a worldview that does not divide good and evil, leaves space instead of rushing to answers, and embraces the attitude of “accepting without fully understanding.”
This resonates deeply with the Zen principles of “not dividing,” “not judging,” and “seeing things as they are.”
The Boy and the Heron (2023), the latest film by Hayao Miyazaki, which attracted audiences worldwide, leaves a quiet, lingering impression without offering clear answers.

This exhibition is structured around that film, revealing a Zen-inspired way of seeing that shapes Ghibli’s world.
