Sanrio Co., Ltd., which celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2020, is widely known as a pioneer of Japan’s world-famous character culture.
Sanrio has created more than 450 characters including Hello Kitty and My Melody, and its history is synonymous with the history of the “kawaii” culture, which is now a common language throughout the world.
This exhibition traces the history of Sanrio through goods and design drawings dating from the time of the company’s establishment.
Furthermore, by focusing on Sanrio’s unique style of developing its characters while also placing importance on communication with fans, we close in on the secret of how the Sanrio characters have been continually loved throughout the ages.
This is the largest scale exhibition in Sanrio’s history, and can be enjoyed by children and adults over three generations.
