As part of the HIROSHI SUGIMOTO – POSIT VITAM program, Kyogen and Sambaso produced and scenography by Hiroshi Sugimoto will be staged in Kyoto for the first time. The show will be an outstanding opportunity to enjoy performances by three generations of the Nomura acting dynasty (Mansaku, Mansai, Yuki), based on Hiroshi Sugimoto’s world view.

Starting with Tsukimi-zato, an opportunity to savor the artistry of Living National Treasure Nomura Mansaku, an actor at the very pinnacle of his abilities, the program will feature a re-interpretation of Sambaso, one of Japan’s oldest celebratory entertainments. Here, a fusion of traditional performing art and contemporary art transcending time and genre will serve as an embodiment of the expanding boundaries of classic. The Sambaso of Nomura Mansai and his son, Yuki is bold and dynamic, guaranteeing an exciting show.

Here is the detail of the exhibition, HIROSHI SUGIMOTO – POST VITAM.
