Exhibition POMPEII
2022/4/21-2022/7/3
Venue [ Main Building(North Wing)1F ]
-
In AD 79, a massive eruption of Mt Vesuvius, near Naples in Italy, caused volcanic matter to engulf the Roman imperial city of Pompeii. Excavation of the buried remains, begun in the eighteenth century, continues today.
This exhibition presents various unearthed artifacts, ranging from superb murals, sculpture, and craftwork to daily utensils such as tableware and cookware––enabling us to reimagine the urban society and rich lifestyle of 2,000 years ago.
Thanks to the generous cooperation of the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, conserver of a treasure trove of Pompeii artifacts, visitors have a precious opportunity to appreciate “the definitive Pompeii exhibition.”Information
